Flower Horn or Hua Luo Han which is popularly known has taken the aquatic world (particularly in the South East Asian region) by storm within the last few years. Its popularity is gaining momentum day by day especially in The USA, and it is set to be an internationally known fish with the likes of the discus fish and arowana.

Luo Han fish is basically from the Cichlid family, which is classified under the genus of Cichlasoma, a specie commonly found in South America. This beautiful, magnificient hybrid is thought to be the end product of cross breeding between the Cichlasoma Trimaculatus, Cichlasoma Festae, Jingang Blood Parrot, and etc.. But to date, a lot of better quality Luo Han have been produced resulting from the intensified eagerness of breeders to produce the best show quality fish for the market.

Some NEW Features are:
* Unique crazy lightning pearls all over the fish.
* RED BASED with Variances of Colours
* Some new strain has Strong Double row Flowerline ( plums) black marking
* Very proportionate hump, a stocky body, Great Finnages, and Big Fan tail.

One of the most important part of the fish is the hump on the head. The bigger and more colourful the hump the more the price of the fish will become. Body shape and colour is another important part in determining the price of the fish.

But then Beauty is in the Eye of the Beholder. Some likes Freeheads, Hard Head or Water Heads which are transparents when put upon a light and are mostly attractive towards FH enthusiasts. For some Say " The Bigger the Better"

But then again every one has their own taste, quality, and traits that they prefer in a Fh.

Flower Horn fish has many fanciful names given to it but all in all it is a new hybrid strain originating from the cichlid... For some breeders, LFS may name their fish to gain recognition or profits. And also different region of the globe uses different terms due to dialect and breeders.

Some people refer to it as a 'Feng Shui' fish believing that it may bring good fortune to its owner. The Chinese call it Hua Luo Han. Note that the Chinese pronouncation sounds almost identical to its English name.

There are many owners who claims that the black markings on the fish sometimes may resemble lucky numbers, symbols or wordings.

Some specimens have grown to sizes up to 18-20 inches making this a very big and MAGNIFICENTLY beautiful fish.
