Convergence; from IF to Zetaboard

 We (Fhrus) are happy to announce that FHRUs Forums will be converting from IF board to a Zetaboard shortly to better serve your need.

Everything will be transferred and no members nor post will be deleted or lost

This new board will includes powerful integrated spambot protection, and are more far superior than the annoying spam bots we are currently fighting with. Plus not to mention a better support system for the forum.

In addition to an overall more intuitive feel, we will find tons of new features like blogs, shoutboxes, search, and custom profiles.

Since these are just some of the new features, our staffs/members will surely find more as they use the new board when converted.


The downtime as they stated varies from a couple minutes to about a day depending on the final method chosen. But we are aiming for the couple of minutes method. FHRUS Forums will, more than likely, be down with an 'upgrading' message, during this process.

Here are some of the features that are given that we know of as of now:

-Upload attachments to posts.
-Permissions for members and groups to read/create/reply/upload per forum.
-Customizable skin, images, smilies, and logo.
-PM (Personal Messenger) System.
-Warn/Suspend/Ban users.
-Forum Portal.
-Calendar.
-Banning and Word Filters.
-Topic Multi-Moderation; a quick way to perform several moderation action in 1 click.
-Pinned (Sticky) Topics.
-Support Tickets.
-No pop-up advertisements.
-Public folder size be increased from 16MB


Also here are Features that were in Development within past few months:

-Restore default CSS, images, or wrapper
-Multiple Skins
-Sorted emoticons (smilies)
-Upload custom image
-Custom avatar gallery folders
-Upload avatars to gallery
-Board offline for x days/hours

Well we hope to better serve all needs and also do hope that you as a member will continue to support FHRUS and Keep the FAMILY Spirit alive!!

 OK.. Time is here.. I've made the decision.. I went through with some of the staff regarding the upgrade and most are with the GO that I have spoken with... Ive spend many numerous hours on researching this new board..It is surely a BENEFIT to convert, as it will dimenise the spamming and also offering more options for members and staff alike.

I am still not sure of the absolute time frame of how long this will take.. but more over it should not be over than 24 hrs.. they state it will take from 1hr to less than a day..

But after doin so, there may be glitches that we may have to work out as in any new software.. and even if there is.. I will keep the forum open after the conversion for the reconstruction but not during the conversion.. I truly hope all will understand.

Ad removal
(Essentially this means that all data on FHRUS board is converted)

Time of Conversion I would request is WEDNESDAY 12AM, Jan 30th, 2008

this is when most of will be asleep, and also a hump day.

yeah me too

but i hope all goes well.. and hope its software friendly for the members.. for i know at times.. some human are hard to adapt at times..

as for me .. i still need many more hours of reading and learning.. codes and all duh 2

but we will live .. just like how we were in the beginning thumbs up

 man i almost forgot.. went fishing and i just remember that we are converting to Zetaboard tonight..

im sorry

Im hoping that the convergence takes no longer than an hour..

as is.. I will take the board offline and will put it right back up as soon as its done.. so I am estimating by the time USA members are awake and by the time i get to sleep the board will be up and running again..

 Alright..

Guess im a weakling..hahahahah.. couldnt handle seeing all the members come and not be able to get into the forum. And I went ahead and open back the forum. So now I went ahead and Opt-In to covert to Zetaboard.

There will be no time frame of when this conversion is going to take place. I surely do not know. But i do hope the sooner the Better.. The server will convert the forum when its our time to convert, so I'm guessing there are many other boards that are converting and is taking longer than it should be for our turn. i dont know

im sorry but as of now, i guess we should just go ahead and enjoy what we like best.. seeing more fishies and postings more discussions about em.

So yeah in short, the conversion is on AutoPilot.
