I had bought a king kamfa from Thailand. The fish is skittish and its improving very slowly. Its been past a month now and i just wanna be sure that I am doing the right thing.

I believe my tank is cycled with readings as follows for the past 1 month of recording almost everyday:
Ammonia: 0.25 or less
Nitrite: 0
Nitrate: 20-30
Doing 30% water change every week to keep Nitrate level down.
Using API test kit.

Tank mates:
1 albino pleco
1 parrot fish

I had a hiding place for the parrot fish where the FH is unable to access. At first the FH will keep chasing the parrot fish but now, he only chases it when he has the mood, it seems like they had settled down. For the pleco, the FH dont bother it at all.

My FH seems to be very scared of me. When i am around, he will just hide at 1 corner and looks very nervous. I had try not to have big movement, action when approaching. some days are good, some days are bad. So, i not very sure what is wrong.

It also seems like his color had deteriorated from his "sales video" from the seller.

Video from the seller before he got to me:

Video just taken:

My question is, will the color come back?
Will the kok be bigger?
How to let the fish not so skittish?

To me it's doing alright...color wise..it appears its the camera..

But fish..I'm hoping he sent the correct one. Will have to check on pc to be able to compare. A little hard to see on the phone.

But non the less it's an awesome piece. Congrats on the find

Flowerhorns shipped from over seas take a long time to recover, some might bounce back quickly but not all do!

Looks like you have got the right flowerhorn and I must say he is beautiful in luv

thank you for sharing

Thanks all for the replies. This assures me that my FH is doing ok. He is better now (as i was typing), but still scared of bright lights. But at least he is chasing my fingers and responding to mirror image of himself.

I was hoping the kok will come soon coz he is already about 4-5 inches big now.
