Thai silk flowerhorn food
Topic Started: May 23 2018, 02:46 PM (56 Views)
Hey all,

Recently bought a Thai silk flowerhorn (light blue colour) he's about 3-4 inches. I was just wondering what food I should feed him. I'm currently feeding Hikari Sinking Cichlid Gold mini pellets. But I would like to feed a few different ones, I was told a mixture was best.

I was looking at:
- New Life Spectrumi Cichlasoma Formula
- JBL flowerhorn maxi

Any thoughts on these and also what I'm currently feeding?

One last thing, what do you suggest for treats?

Many thanks.

Hi there and welcome to FlowerhornRus, yes JBL is good choice and you can find it easy in EU (jbl is made in Germany), I am feeding them every day and they like it a lot, also about treats you gan give them anything like blood worms, frozen or dried shrimp, even gammarus etc....
Sometimes I give fresh shrimps, calamari or small fishes. Try to boil all kind of live fresh or frozen food with aquarium water for 5 to 10 seconds, that removes any kind of bacteria & microbes, so you avoid any kind of infections. :)

PS: One time a small bee went into the tank (was doing water change), then my small TS eated it in a sec... my fish was extremly happy for the next 5 days....lol

Ditto with vag...great advice..

All the food listed are good and can be used as staples..I myself would like new life.

But fish with pearls and colors..food best are ones high in spirulina..usually from veggie based food.

Also as treats..peas and corn are good too.
SAD??? sad is seeing that wrinkled face in the mirror of a NOBODY and knowing that life is given by Borrowed Time,
And to the Truth is, Being alive and not knowing how to LIVE...
Now that is sad!!!

So Therefore... My Dream is My Reality and My Reality is My Dream, And If I am in MY Reality, Then I could do So as I pleases AS in My DREAM!!!
