I tried chingmix with another fish and it did not help too much, I have an order of grand sumo coming in tomorrow so hopefully that helps, the fish i got is from flowerfish and I believe all they use is grand sumo along with live feed of course. Thanks for your help, I have the temp at 86 degrees right now but will probably turn it down to 82. I think the fish are breathing a little too hard due to the high temp. Thanks for your insight you're the best

I feed mine:Pellets: Alife, ( Amazone, Probetta, 2 kinds of Dragons...these underlined sold here on forum and i buy from here, because in Canada we dont have ) Spirulina sticks for cichlids, veggie based pellets, sometimes i mix a bit of all the brand of pellets...2 times a week, i have Red Forever but i dont like "pellets too small". Freeze dried food: freeze dried shrimp, Frozen food: fresh shrimp, frozen ostrich heart, jumbo blood worms, frozen beef heart ( when available ).

Also read on forum some give:

***Vegetables:
Green Peas (shelled and slightly boiled to soften)
Romaine lettuce leaves
Cucumber slices
Orange slices for extra vitamin C
Strawberry slices for even more vitamin C
Potatoes (again boiled to soften)

There are many others that they will take to but these are the ones often tested and tried that they will consume without hesitation. We have been feeding them variety for many years and have had no intestinal problems as of yet.

Along with feeding one has to remember that maintenance is indeed the sole key in keeping a long and healthy pet for many years. That is water changes, cleaning gravel if you have, added vitamins for energy boost and your filter roundup and cleanup of the biological overloads.***

***A Flowerhorn should be feed a balanced diet. The best way to do this is select a high quality pellet containing 38-50% protein 45-48 is ideal. There are a number of good products on the market and I would suggest you try a few until you find one that works well for you and your fish. It has also been my experience that after a couple months you should switch around the brand you use as fish sometimes get sick of it. You can always go back to the original again later. In addition to the main staple being pellets. Other foods that work well are market shrimp, freeze dried shrimp, blood worms, crickets, beef heart and any other food that goes well with larger fish or cichlids.***

***PH is 6.0 to 7.6, Ammonia 0, Nitrate 0, Nitrites no more than 20-50 PPM, Temp. 82 to 86.

And they are also at best potential with clean water...it is best to do a 25% water change weekly. Also it is beneficial for your fish health to add conditioners ( for the water to remove Chlorine etc ) and aquarium salt for stress coats.

If fish gets sick, you "Always" double the salt.

The best key is always give it a wide variety of goods

82 degree and the fish is fine bro not too high cause if you leave it on too high your fish will die younger but by keep the water cooler like 80 to 82 your fish will live longer

SAD??? sad is seeing that wrinkled face in the mirror of a NOBODY and knowing that life is given by Borrowed Time,
And to the Truth is, Being alive and not knowing how to LIVE...
