So will he stay like that? What do you suggest I do to try and repair it the best possible way? He is very active still, eats like a pig, there is a female in there with him and he is very aggressive towards her, especially during feeding time.
Well, hopefully I can get some recommendations and hopefully most of it goes away, his color is awesome and it seems weird having part of his body very dark.

Thanks guys

Thanks for the advice, I just cleaned about %50 of the water, I feed him grand sumo as his staple, nls, fresh beefheart and market shrimp. It is getting a little lighter so I'm crossing my fingers. Do you think I should add some salt? Temp is about 83, I'm about to raise it to about 86. Should I add some aquarium salt??? Or is that a bad idea? What about some quick cure??

No need for quick cure med.

Salt is ok... though not necessary. 86 is good.

Lay off the beef heart. Other then that is all good. good luck

i would say do stick to water changes Under 50%.. 50% may be a lil too much, for the fish to handle.. too much of a good thing can also be bad.... salt will help calm the fish....hope this helps and i hope ur fish recovers.....

I think he may just be changing colors because a different kgm from the place i bought it from is all black but starting to fade, so hopefully he is just fading. He is very healthy, eating well, on Grand Sumo and freeze dried worms. I've added salt already, temp is 86 and water is very clean and cycled well. Ph is in the higher 7's. His KoK is getting bigger though and is surely growing overall.
