Greetings valued members and staffs, Lets have some fun and also learn something while at it. I am happy to announce that we are ready to go forth with our Grand Sumo Online Photo Competition, which is funded by Peter Lee and Alvin aka Flower Fish. I would like to make it open for ALL, but with seperate prizes. The prize consist of : 1) 3-4inches KGM flowerhorn fish. 2) Member's Title Change 3) 1-550gram Grand Sumo Fish Food Here are the terms and qualification. The duration of this event will be from now 7-22-08 to 8-14-08 !! this will give everyone enough time to participate. The winner will be announce on 8-21-08. Entry pics are to be sent to FlowerHornRUs@aol.com to participate. One picture of a Fh/Hybrid, could be male or female and of any sizes or quality. 1- one picture of a BEFORE and AFTER feed of Grand sumo fish food. a) a before pic will need to be in by 7-31-08 no later than 12AM Pacific Time. b) a after pic will need to be in no later than 8-14-08 no later than 12AM Pacific Time. * YOU could now send the before and after no later than 8-14-08!! 2- fish must be fed by Grand Sumo Product. You could Buy grand sumo fish food from any Authorized dealers link of authorized dealer http://www.grandsumousa.com/authorized_dealers.htm 3- Each fish can enter 1 time Grand sumo competition only. 4- winning fish will be judge by Members/Staffs and 3 slected Judges. pictures of entries will be voted at the poll forum. http://flowerhornrusforum.com/forum/3357/ * Prize for fish is for USA only. * winner need to pay 65USD for shipping of fish all other Prizes are world wide free shipping. winning fish will judge by color, kok, body, overall development and camera skills . here are some guidelines on what to look for when snapping some shots. 1) Fish should be healthy and in top condition. 2) Distractions other than subject fish should be eliminated or kept to a minimum (other fish, date-time stamps, tank equipment etc.). 3) Fish photographed should be in focus. Out of focus background is ok (depth of field limits) as long as subject is in focus. 4) Fish blurry by movement should be avoided. 5) Framing should include the whole fish in a natural pose. To cut-off the rear of fish detracts from overall picture balance. 6) Tank should be clean (algae, watermarks, etc.), specially the glass you are photographing through. 7) Camera lens should be clean. 8) Photo quality should be good. Observe how whole picture is composed, should be in harmony and pleasant to the observers eyes. 9) Light balance should be natural, not overtly blue or red. 10) Flash and other reflections should be avoided.
