EHEIM substrat pro: A Bio filter medium for best biological decomposition efficiency Packing size 0.25 l, 1 l, 2 l and 5 l After any means of filtering dirt water into the filter wool, substrat pro offers perfect colonization conditions to the important purification bacteria through the high bulk density of the spherical shape (full utilization of the volume) and the perfect surface structure (maximum number of bacteria on each sphere). This combination provides the maximum number of purification bacteria which ensure clear, healthy water, stable water values and longer service life of the filter. substrat pro reduces the peak nitrite loads better, can be rinsed out and can be used several times. http://www.eheim.de/eheim/inhalte/index.jsp?key=liniendetail_27605_ehen Check out the above link for more details. I recommend its important to use a couple of say 2-3 different brands of filter media to achieve maximised water quality condition for the flowerhorns. Should you study engineering stuffs, you will gradually realise a couple of test is adopted for the result of one particular coefficient. Hence, should Biohome could not trace some other water parts, I use eheim substrate pro as a backup to ridd off any unwanted elements in the water which Biohome could not withstand to achieve my total concept of good water conditions for my flowerhorns. Just for sharing and no intended harm on other commercial products.

welcome boss. I ll share as much as i could for everyone's benefit to get to know more about nutrition and health matters for flowerhorns. water condition is an important factor for flowerhorn's good health. Once they have good health, they will eat well and build up everything well. Lastly, do not worry for I have the contact with the agent and can always do the work for you all in the next GB. Ill move on to the next topic on types of filteration flow system which plays another impt factor of how to utilise all of the filter media for MAX results.
