use PraziPro, hard to find in my area but you can also purchase online, expensive but well worth it to get rid of internal worms, i suggest using it in a 10 gallon hospital tank so you wont use as much in a 100 gallon. Follow directions on bottle. |

you should follow the directions that came with those tablets, otherwise you might get an overdose and kill your fish. |

The Reason that i need to deworm is due to my FH's color remains dim whenever i started feeding him.... I think it'll turn to normal after this deworming treatment..... |

this im not so sure is the cause . i know some changes colors due to mood, water conditions and lightings ... specially if they just woke up from sleeping.. or going to sleep they can change drastically. but from feeding i dont think it should be so sudden ???? |

Ya i'm also confused regarding this issue..... but I've tried all possible things but the results were same.... And also my friends are said that, its necessary to perform deworming once in every 6 months.... When i enquired about this to my nearby aquarium shop, they said its due to the worm that present within FH that absorbs the nutritions from the food that we feed to them that results them to be in lighter color.... |

Praziquantel can be found in Jungle's Parasite Clear as well (http://www.junglelabs.com/pages/details.asp?item=TB636). I once used that until I found the fast & long term effectiveness of Fluke Tabs. Something about FHs need stronger treatments... probably from the nasty ponds & funky breeder tanks from overseas. Not all are like that, yet it is more common for a FH to be bred from a nasty pond then not. Anyhow after years of trial & error testing various commercial products available in the USA, I find Fluke Tabs the best overall. |

I've been so curious about this post that I have to ask if there are any other symptoms of fluke infections or other internal worms for that matter? Maybe milder ones when the disease has just started other than these symptoms (signs of extreme skin/gill irritability, continually scratching and scraping on rocks etc., and "flicking" the pelvic and dorsal fins against the side of the body. Gill plates are clamped or close tight or not functioning when breathing) Is the fish lightening of colors one of the mild symptoms or is it severe? How light would the color be? for sharing!!!!Edited by tawtaw, Aug 9 2008, 03:27 AM.

Bro Tawtaw, mine one is got lighter when i start feeding him, and as i feed each times his color got lighter and lighter... When i didn't feed him for 2 days his color was came back to normal.... This is usual scenario that i have faced for past 3 months.... We have been feeding them with different variety of foods that might cause worms within them without our knowledge(as like a, child who get worms by eating chocolates and other stuffs). That worms will consumes the nutririons from the food that we feed to our FH, and left nothing to them, that cause them to lose their color and when we didn't feed him for someday, the worms activities were decreased and FH regain their color..... And i was advised to Deworm for every 6 months.....
