Can a fh become overstimulated? My lil ZZM never stops attacking the divider next to the kkp... I do mean NEVER holy moly I ask because some say only use a mirror for 1/2 to 1 hours aday to stimulate them. Also, IME, they usually dont spend all day, everyday attacking each other.

He is eating well, color is back and head is coming. Just the lil bugger never stops strutting his stuff belly laugh

hmmmm hmmm??

in my opinion ..i would think the more aggressive the better.. but overstimulation?? i know health wise..too much is bad and has its negative affects.. and too less or not having enough is also bad..but then all this the negative affects may show at any time span.. i'm lost

and here we talking bout a over active fish.. so to me..i would say i wouldnt worry..for i've seen and had fish that are like that.. and i havent seen any negative affect that i could see visually but more of the colors brighten and head poppin more.. so i dont know

I would monitor his breathing rate and give him more O2 if needed

Have you seen a big fish with a hook in its mouth and having it running everywhere? After awhile, they should get tired and some fish have died from over exerting themselves.

Aggressive is good but would a fish know when to stop when it gets tired or are they just crazy like bettas?

All is good as long as it is not hurting itself

ps to vanz, I caught a 19.5 lber stripper today and it is almost as big as the one I picture text ya. LOL I know the hot spot and the river is as wide as your street only. Crazy stripper run around here. He's bigger than a cooler and his head is as long as a beer bottle (got pix for proof). Any brothers want see pix, I can shoot you a pix txt of my 22.5 and my 19.5. Pm me with numbers.

It all depends on the individual FH. I kept some in divided tanks that initially would fight, but then cool off & not fight any other time with the exception of feeding time. I also kept some FHs in a divided tank that just would not stop, like in your case. It can be troublesome with egg-crate dividers. I lost a great Midas do to its mouth being slashed & cut up because it kept trying to fight a FH on the other side. The Midas hit egg-crate divider at top speed & then his mouth was slashed and could not function to eat... had to put that one down because of it.

*I should note that constant fighting between FH and egg-crate dividers can make your FH prone to duck-lips. If you have overly aggressive FH that pick at each other through the divider they create agitated tissue around the mouth/jaws... what happens is that the agitated tissue then becomes infected & afterwards you have a FH with duck-lips.

I did put a P.S to vanz only sheesh. LOL

well i think it is ok to drift a little as long as you attack the topic title. Once you are done with your yacking, you can drift on a side note but keep it minimum.

I also agreed with lucky. I too have lost fish due to duck lip from them attacking through the egg crate. Well poor me was raising them long face fh so their mouth is like a scissor that can still go through the small holes of an egg crate divider. A big lesson learned indeed.

Now if you want some cool red dots on your kok, you can cut a hole in your egg crate that the head can go through but not the kok area. You see, when your fish tries to attack a helpless fish on the other side, its face will go through the hole but the kok will bang against the rough edged of your egg crate thus giving it damages. When it heals, it will act like a fake pearl on the kok area. I'm not suggesting this but this is what I did as an experiment on a hard kok fish and it makes my fish looks a lot better around the kok region.

P.s one last shot so please don't ask me no more. I will not derail this thread no more.
vanz - yes that fish I sent ya is the 22 lbers. The stomach of the fish is as big as my own stomach. The new pix of the 19lbers I will send you right now. Sorry I didn't make a digital camera image of it to share with the rest. I don't have a camera connector to the pc. If you look at the beer bottle for comparison, it is as big as its head alone only. If you put a beer bottle on your frying pan, it would fill it up so imagine the head only would be on the frying pan. Now if you put the the body on the frying pan, what a big piece of steak. I'm going back out there again in a few hours from now and if I catches anything bigger than a 10lber, I will make a new thread and share them fishes pix with ya. They are going to the shallow water ways to spawn around this time of the year. At my hotspot, even before your sinker touches the ground, you already got a bite. How big will depending on who will get to your bait first.
