Too Much Filtration/Current?

Zygotes Posts: 2 Group: Members Member #12,760 Joined: February 9, 2010	I currently have an 80 Gallon tank set-up with 2 Mariland Penguin 350 Bio-Wheel Filters rated for 60 gallons each. A friend recently gave me a Fluval 405 canister filter rated for 100 gallons. Would it be too much filtration, or cause too much current if I added it to my set-up? FHRUS Posts: 5,442 Group: Global Moderators/ Team RUS Member #99 Joined: September 12, 2006	I would just go with the canister that should be enough filtration for an 80gal.. in fact one hang on filter would be good enough you will have to do water changes anyways.

The more the better in my opinion. I would put the intake next to the 2nd filter and put the return next to the 3rd filter. Your water will always be clear. But like petah said there is no substitution for a good water change!!

(USA)	yup it wouldnt be too much.. the currents would be a great excercise for your fish.. your fish is a big boy already.. he could handle it.. it would work out his muscle. nice set up..
	It takes 36 muscles to make a FROWN... But it ONLY takes ONE FISH to make a Smile!!!
